Though Thorco Shipping primarily focus on project and breakbulk cargo, we do in fact perform successfully a great number of bulk transports every year. The majority of our fleet features relatively short LoA and shallow draft compared to the vessel’s deadweight capacity and pure bulk vessels thus we are able to serve most ports facilities whether it is up shallow or narrow rivers and or ports.

A significant demand in wind energy has proportionally increased the demand for the transport of wind mill equipment globally. Thorco Shipping is proud to be engaged in such transports and at time to even the farthest corners of the globe with our versatile fleet.

The global trend of out sourcing of production of complex steel structures to cement mills, power plants, sport arenas, buildings, bridges, etc has equally prompted the need for safe and reliable transport of heavy industry equipment around the world. The heavy industry equipment often demand high under deck volume which is one of the significant features of Thorco Shipping’s vessels, especially the vessels in excess of 10,000mt deadweight.

Mining and Resources
- Global demand for processed goods, being it cars to high technological conveniences, has increased the global demand for mined resources such as chrome-ore, zinc- and copper-concentrates and other precious metals. The mines are often located in remote and not easily accessible areas, mixed with ever more complex transport requirements due to the nature of the cargo required becoming larger and heavier. Thorco Shipping continue to meet the increasing demands our clients “as long as there is water most of the way”.
Oil and Gas
- The exploration, extraction and refining of fossil fuels is world spanning industry from cold climate zones far north or south to hot tropical areas. It scales from minor mobile drilling units to huge off-shore installations to massive pipes lines. The majority of Thorco Shipping’s versatile fleet is able to meet the highest standard of international trade requirements for transportation of IMO Dangerous Cargoes such as the equipment of UN forces, which at times includes arms and ammunition, to global hot spots. Also, the transportation of TNT or explosives for legal commercial usage in the mining industry is one of Thorco Shipping’s specialties.
